The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a 4 years undergraduate medical programme. Nursing education is monitored by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the programme focus on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning. After the completion of the course, the students compulsorily need to do a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them.
Karpagam Nursing College established in the year 2007, is Approved by Indian Nursing Council, Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Government of Tamil Nadu Affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University. The college is equipped with all the necessary lab facilities. The college has a built up area of 30,000 sq ft, and is attached to the 650 bedded Karpagam Faculties of Medical Sciences and Research (KFMSR) Hospital, recognized by Medical Council of India, New Delhi.
The infrastructure developed at the college campus provides an opportunity to the meritorious students to become appropriate and need based health providers in their own environment. The nursing college is housed in a separate two storied building constructed as per the norms of Indian Nursing Council. The total built up area is 33,500 sq.ft. The building consists of 4 lecture halls and examination hall with spacious seating capacity for the students and all lecture halls are equipped with modern teaching aids.
