The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a 4 years undergraduate medical programme. Nursing education is monitored by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the programme focus on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning. After the completion of the course, the students compulsorily need to do a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them.
GNM stands for (General Nursing and Midwifery) and focuses on educating nursing students on the topics of general health care and midwifery.
Ankola being Taluka Head Quarters had only basic minimum health care facilities provided by Govt. of Karnataka. Understanding the health care need of Ankola in specific and Uttar Karnataka in general, KLE Society established hospital in the 90’s and today it has grown equal to district Hospital status providing all types of Medical, Surgical and allied services.
After venturing in the health care services, society also understood the need for establishing Nursing institute for the following reasons. KLES Institute of Nursing Sciences, Ankola (UK) was established in September 2003 with the broad vision of KLE Society as an endeavor to provide quality education and traing with an intension to increase the number of qualified nurses in the country. Our institute is offering Diploma in Nursing and B.Sc. Nursing Programme since 2003. We have students from Karnataka, Kerala, Goa, Maharasthra, & other states.
